Wine
from Transylvania
Our first 2.5 hectares of vineyard were planted in 1990 by Barabás Stefan, who has shown a deep passion and dedication to viticulture and winemaking. Thanks to his initial enthusiasm and work, the plantation underwent a significant expansion in 2008, when, under the Reorganization Program, an additional 10 hectares of vine were added.
This expansion allowed the winery to become one of the most important in the region, where traditional methods are combined with modern technology to produce high-quality wines. Over the years, Barabás Winery has continuously evolved and today boasts a wide range of wines that include white, rosé, and sweet varieties specific to the region. The winery places a special emphasis on sustainable agriculture and strict adherence to environmental protection regulations, ensuring that each bottle of wine delivers the purest and most natural flavors. Discover Barabás Winery’s offerings and enjoy rare and memorable taste experiences, only possible with wines grown in the heart of Transylvania.

Terroir and Vineyard

The vineyards of Barabás Winery are located in the heart of Transylvania, among picturesque hills. The special terroir – determined by the soil, climate and topography – provides the basis for wines of outstanding quality.
The chalky and mineral-rich soils of the vineyard give the wines a particular structure and freshness. The climate is characterised by temperate continental influences, with sunny days and cool nights resulting in balanced acidity and complex aromas.
